We are excited for SEPA to be our first commercial customer after our free trial program with Sustainability Victoria ended in early 2024.
CigCycle is a collection program for cigarette butts, run by No More Butts.
Available to Australian businesses that want to tackle the environmental impacts of cigarette butts, CigCycle equips you with knowledge and tools to deal with cigarette butt litter and waste from employees and guests.
Designed for businesses and events that already have a method of collecting cigarette butts (such as an ashtray), butts are stored, then collected and diverted from landfill.
Our hope is that, through research, we can prove that cigarette butts can provide additional benefit through effective end-of-life management, whilst removing the threat from our environment.
After ordering your CigCycle product, we will arrange delivery. Encourage employees / patrons who smoke to use your existing infrastructure to dispose of their cigarette butts thoughtfully.
Collect the cigarette butts and store them inside your CigCycle bin in the provided snap-lock bags. When your CigCycle bin is full, or if you require a pick-up, simply scan the QR code, or get in touch by email or phone, and we will arrange a collection. If you have a subscription, we will clean your bin and provide replacement bags.
We partner with a variety of organizations and businesses in our community to provide comprehensive mental health services to those in need.

Collected cigarette butts are provided to our research partners to progress their work within our five current streams of research. It’s our intention that your butts will be put to good use through initiatives that extend the valuable life of the cigarette butt waste.
Please reach us at info@cigcycle.com.au if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Cigarette butts are the most littered item in the world. Up to 8.9 billion cigarette butts are littered in Australia each year. Another 8.9 billion make their way to landfill, where they still cause environmental damage.
Cigarette butts leach toxic chemicals into the environment. One cigarette butt can pollute up to 40 litres of water.
Collect cigarette butts from your existing ash trays, place them in the provided bags and store them in your CigCycle bin until we come and pick them up
We have two sizes available. Businesses will need a space that is 25-50 cm wide - we recommend a covered outdoor area.
No More Butts collects the cigarette butts and diverts to research projects to identify potential uses in the circular economy.
If none of the projects are successful by the end of 2025 and there are no other options, rather than stockpiling we will dispose of the cigarette butts responsibly into landfill, where they cause the least harm.
